Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland. Founded by the Vikings in 914. I found a beautiful descendant – Kristin the Viking near the Reginald Tower built around 1003. Still looks pretty good to me after all these years.
Waterford Crystal is world famous. The modern building is located among the older buildings of the city. Waterford is in the south of Ireland. Don’t break anything now!!
This was such a busy town. One of our favorite characters from Louis L’Amour’s books was named Lance Kilkenny. He was a gunfighter. His girl was Nita Riordan. We looked for him but didn’t see him.
St. Nicholas is in CarrickFergus built in the 12th century. I took some photos of the graveyard. One was dated “died 1827” – the man was 53 at the time, so that would put him born in the late 1700’s. There were some apparently dated from the 1600’s.
