St. Nicholas is in CarrickFergus built in the 12th century. I took some photos of the graveyard. One was dated “died 1827” – the man was 53 at the time, so that would put him born in the late 1700’s. There were some apparently dated from the 1600’s.
Antrim is a very old town in N. Ireland. The o’Neil clan (who are still alive) own a massive estate. They are connected to the High Kings of Ireland going back to the 5th Century. A beautiful place full of character. An old castle still exists through the town.
Here we are in Port Stewart & Port Rush – the north coast. We had some excellent ice-cream at at place called Morelli’s. As you can tell we have been sampling the Irish fare with relish wherever we have gone. Above all we are saturated with tea.
