Absolutely beautiful sports fields. Rugby School is the home of the game of rugby. If you look carefully you will see Prince Harry in a school skit about the discovery of rugby when William Webb Ellis (school pupil) picked up a soccer ball and ran with it, and thus rugby was invented.

Beatrix Potter
I’ve had a long-standing admiration for Beatrix Potter. Her work as both a writer and artist have brought me much pleasure. But did you know she was also very skilled in mycology (fungi), general science, sheep breeding, and conservation? Upon her death in 1943, she bequeathed some 4,000 acres and 15 working farms to the National Trust, ensuring the continuation of untouched land in the famous Lake District. This is where we went today. Her home, Hill Top, has been preserved and is open to the public. It was wonderful. And who hasn’t heard of Peter Rabbit getting caught in a gooseberry while a sparrow flew to him and “implored him to exert himself”. That’s when I’d say to my kids he begged him to try harder! Enjoy the pics.
