The Vine is a community center that is involved in the area between the Shankill Road (Protestant area) and the Falls Road (Catholic area). It is located on the Crumlin Road. On the wall in stained glass are pictures of people from the Crumlin Road who have achieved great things in their careers. You will recognize Amy Carmichael, but to her left is my late uncle Norman Nevin (married to my Aunt Jean – Ruth’s older sister). He was professor of genetics specializing in DNA and spinal bifida in infants. He was honored by the Queen with an OBE. It was great to see him recognized for his achievements.
